FEAR FACTORY
Fear Factory is one of the most influential bands in the metal scene, originating from Los Angeles in the early '90s. They helped shape both death metal and industrial rock by blending brutal, staccato guitar riffs with electronic samples, creating a unique fusion that set them apart from their peers. Their groundbreaking work predated the rise of metalcore bands like Killswitch Engage and the industrial metal of Static-X and Rammstein. Over their career, Fear Factory has released several critically acclaimed albums, including Demanufacture (1995) and Obsolete (1998), which redefined heavy music with a combination of aggressive vocals, melodic elements, and futuristic, sci-fi inspired lyrics.
After selling over a million albums and surviving several lineup changes, the band underwent a significant split in 2002, when guitarist Dino Cazares and vocalist Burton C. Bell parted ways due to personal conflicts. Although Fear Factory continued without Cazares, the band lacked the intensity of its early years. In 2008, after a six-year estrangement, Bell and Cazares reunited, reviving the band’s signature sound and intensity. Their reunion led to the creation of new music that recaptured the energy of their earlier work, much to the excitement of fans.
In August 2025, Fear Factory will once again return to the stage at the Bloodstock Open Air festival, a major metal event held annually in Catton Park, Derbyshire. Their performance promises to deliver a powerful mix of their classic hits and newer material, making this an exciting moment for long-time followers and new fans alike.
