NAILBOMB
Nailbomb was an industrial thrash metal band formed in 1994 as a collaborative side project between Brazilian musician Max Cavalera (Sepultura, Soulfly) and English musician Alex Newport (Fudge Tunnel). The band was a short-lived but influential project, known for its raw aggression and politically charged themes.
Nailbomb released their only studio album, Point Blank, in 1994 through Roadrunner Records. The album featured an eclectic mix of metal, punk, and industrial elements, receiving acclaim for its ferocity and innovative sound. The lineup of Nailbomb included several guest musicians, such as D.H. Peligro (Dead Kennedys), Igor Cavalera (Max’s brother and Sepultura co-founder), and Dino Cazares (Fear Factory, Brujeria), contributing to its distinctive sound.
The band only played one official live show, at the 1995 Dynamo Open Air Festival in Eindhoven, Netherlands. This performance was recorded and released as their second album, Proud to Commit Commercial Suicide, a live documentation of the band's explosive on-stage energy.
Although Nailbomb disbanded shortly after this performance, their influence persists. In a highly anticipated event, the band is set to reunite for a special appearance at the Bloodstock Open Air Festival in August 2025.
