Band Line Up 2015

Soulborn are a 4 piece heavy metal band from Norwich in the East of England.
The band formed in 2010 after Gareth Day (guitar) and Matt Gamble (bass) met as part of a different project. Gareth had previously been in a band with Mike Wallace (vocals & guitar), and Mike in turn brought Peter Betts (drums) with him from his last band.
With influences ranging from the likes of Anthrax and Metallica to Meshuggah and SikTh, Alice In Chains and Soundgarden to Pantera and Rage Against The Machine, Down and Black Label Society to Soilwork and American Head Charge there was never going to be one label that the band would collectively be comfortable subscribing to - this has made their style and sound difficult to define with one single label.
To date the band has one studio recorded release, a self-titled 4 track EP, but further recording is in pipeline.
Since the bands inception Soulborn have built a strong reputation based on riffs and groove delivered with energy from the stage, and have consequently been a part of some of their local scene's biggest events (the Oval Rockhouse 15 year reunion and the Attitude Metal Festival to name a couple) as well as playing support to many nationally and internationally touring bands.
The band's aim always was, and still a simple one: To write music that they would want to listen to and have a damn good time delivering it with the kind of live performances they'd want to see.
We (Soulborn) have been blown away by the support and positivity we've received throughout the Metal To The Masses competition, from start to finish they've been great gigs and a great chance for us to play with awesome bands and reach some people in our home town who might not have seen us live before. Now to be given the opportunity to play Bloodstock and reach people from across the country – hell, across the world – that's blowing our minds a bit!
We all know that Bloodstock is one of the few festivals that's actually ABOUT THE MUSIC and not straight up commercialism these days, and the fact that they give unsigned bands the chance to come and be a part of that without paying a four figure buy-in is just further proof that they're doing things for the right reasons.
The fact that we're going to be performing at Bloodstock is a dream come true to us, and we fully intend to give everything we've got when we're on that stage and hopefully leave a lasting impression with some people – if just one person we've never met before enjoys our set and wants to hear our music again once they're back home then we'll be happy.
We're immensely grateful to Simon Hall and everyone at Bloodstock for giving not just us, but bands all across the country this opportunity – and everyone who goes to Bloodstock or loves new music should be too! There's going to be some amazing bands playing the New Blood Stage that only a handful of people may have ever heard of before, and this is everyone else's chance to discover some awesome music that they'd otherwise never know about.
